I haven't blogged in a while - life at the Floyd house has been crazy crazy since Jake hit summer vacation and the first issue of Modern Babies and Children came out (check it out online www.ModernBabiesAndChildren.com/Dallas)
We all know who you really visit the blog to hear about, not about Jake and I but about tha gals (hahaha) so I will fill you all in:
KEIRA - 3 months
*cooing and smiling up a storm and all around a happy happy baby girl
*just got over a double ear infection
*in the middle of a tummy bug right now and she is still smiling :)
*has slept in her big girl crib the past few nights from about 11pm-7am (not bad!)
*loves to be sitting up and looking around
*loves her big sister (she just stares and smiles at her)
RYLEIGH - 23 months
*the 24/7 entertainment in the house from dancing to singing songs
*favorite quotes right now: "I need more snack" "what u doing mama?" "where'd Keira go?" "no, Roxy go kitchen" "wanna go fimming pool"
*her favorite songs to sing: "Jesus loves me" "Barney, I love you, you love me" "Mr. Golden Sun" "Are you sleeping"
*this summer she loves ice cream, sno cones, and going to Target with Dada or the gym with Mama
Jake is enjoying his 5 weeks off from school/coaching and we head to Cali in about a week to see "Uncle Bo" and celebrate 3 different bdays!
We are preparing ourselves for our first daycare experience and everytime we pass the treehouse academy where the gals will be going, we tell Rylz, "That's RyRy's playground" and she gets all excited. I think she will have fun and enjoy all the schedules there but I know she will miss her Mrs. Cheryl and "the boys" as we call them :)
Lastly, I would just like to say to each of you that read this blog (probably all 5 of you) I am thankful for you and thank the Lord every day for blessing me and my family like he has.
That's all I got..how'd ya like that?

K 2 Months & Ry weekend adventure
Hope everyone is doing well! Here's a Floyd update:
Well, Keira went in for her 2 month check-up and is 12.4 lbs (90thPercentile) and 24 inches long (97thPercentile) She is a healthy little gal who loves to eat..sound like someone else you all know? I think the colic is slowly going away. We are getting to enjoy her smiles and coos now, fun stuff!
Ryleigh had an adventurous weekend!! Friday night she went to the Rangers game with her Daddy and got an Ian Kinsler jersey and also learned how to say Ian Kinsler - she had so much fun. She then spent the night with Mimi B and PawPaw and then woke up and went to Sixflags after church on Sunday with Mimi T and Pops (and J,K and I)She loved the choo choo train.
I would also like to say HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Tammy Floyd, aka Mimi T!
One last thing, I just got my mom's day gift on Friday from Jakums and I just love it - I don't want to take it off (see below)
Enjoy these few pics!! Love you all

Friends, A Birthday and A Book
While Jake and Rylz are out watering the yard, I thought I'd take a moment to blog about our eventful weekend!
First, we got to hang out with The Duty's Thursday night at Gattitown, or as Rylz calls it "dadatown" We had so much fun letting the gals run around and holding the new lil babies

We also celebrated my Mom's 30th bday (wink, wink - that's for you Momma)at Cracker Barrel!

Thirdly, Heather V and I went to a girly movie Saturday while the guys watched the gals and then the guys went to a bball game while we hung with the gals!
Lastly......my boss Tim and I FINALLY finished laying out the new Modern Babies and Children magazine. Our premier issue comes out June 20th and I will post sneak peeks later!

That's all I got, how'd ya like that?

Here We Go....
...I thought Rylz would always be the perfect lil sleeper. Going to bed without a fuss, staying in her toddler bed until the next morning but oh no - I was WAY wrong. She reminds me of myself when I was young..scared of the dark! Last night, we put her to bed like normal but this time she kept saying "I don't want dark" "I don't want it" After about 15 minutes of crying, she fell asleep. Then around 3am she woke up, got out of her bed, opened her door and came to our room. When Jake tried to put her back to bed, she would just throw a fit and cry "hold you" (like she was scared of something). Then we let her sleep in the bed with Jake and I took Keira to sleep in the living room..that didn't work either. Then Jake took Keira in our room to sleep and I put Rylz on the couch with me..that didn't work either. We have prayed with her (even more than we do each night) and we have explained to her that Jesus watches over her and she understands that. Just still scared. If anyone has ANY suggestions, I would GREATLY appreciate it. A few "momisms" below for ya:
*only a mom would be able to carry a toddler on the left, an infant & infant carrier on her right, two bottles and a pitcher in one hand, all while wearing heels and walking down the stairs
*only a mom (dad) would be so sleep deprived that she (he) would tie a scarf from the toddler's bedroom door knob to the bathroom door knob to keep the toddler from opening the door at night (only to realize that scares her even more that she can't open the door in the dark)

A Tootsie Roll at 10:00 a.m.
I just spoke to Kendra about how Taylor was already potty trained like 2 days ago. I was excited for Taylor but frustrated because we had been trying so hard with Ryleigh. Then, this a.m. when Ryleigh and Jake stormed in the room to show me that she was eating a tootsie roll..I wanted to cry! Not because she was eating candy so early in the day but because I knew that meant she had pottied in her big girl Dora potty! Jake said that while I was in the room getting ready, she came up to him and said "wanna go potty" and so he took her in there and she peepee'd like a big girl, thus following up with the reward, a TOOTSIE ROLL! I am so thrilled that she is getting the hang of it - she just used the potty again so hopefully this time it will stick. Maybe we are bad rents for bribing our child with tootsie rolls but if you know Ryleigh, you know that she is motivated by food, not toys!! haha

Sleep Deprived and Blessed
I think the title of this post explains it all. I am not going to complain or go into detail about how tired I am because I also know how blessed both Jake and I are, but we'll just say that the Lord, prayers and coffee are the only things getting me through this first month of having 2 kiddos! Here are a few pics I took recently, and don't laugh at the ring photo - something I wanted to do and Emily and Heather never got around to shooting it.

In addition to limited sleep, the past 4 weeks have also taught me that being a mom is not only joyful and challenging but it is also VERY COMICAL!
WARNING: If you have a weak tummy, I wouldn't attempt to visualize some of these :)
Also Note: in many instances you may 86 MOM and sub DAD
I have decided to begin posting my "mom experiences" on this blog. I hope that you get a chuckle out of them. Here we go:
*Only a Mom would have half a chicken nugget fall out of her shirt when changing into her jammies at night
*Only a Mom would see something suspicious on the floor & immediately run to her toddler only to find the toddler's diaper falling off and a little "prize" falling out
*Only a Mom would have to wait until 10:30 pm to make her first trip to the bathroom
*Only a Mom would be able to say they have seen "projectile poopy"*
*Only a Mom would need her hair cut so badly that she would hold her newborn on her chest and bounce her while the cutting and styling continued on
More to come in the future, and to all of my mom friends - please feel free to submit your "Mom Experiences" and I will post them next time, as anonymous, of course!

2 Week Check Up & a 20-month-old
Lil Keira went in on Friday for her 2 week check up!! Her numbers were:
70% in weight
75% in height
50% in size of head
So far she is sleeping pretty well at night and her favorite things are:
the swing
the play gym
She is such a sweet littlt gal and already has the best big sissy!
Rylz is doing great with Keira. At first it was challenging but each day gets better and better. She loves holding the bottle while K eats and she likes burping her. She always wants to help out and always wants to "hold sissy" or "pick up Keira". They are going to be best buds, I can tell :)
Ryleigh also now understands "I love you" and uses it at all the appropriate times AKA when Jake is trying to leave her in the church nursery and she wants to stay with us in the service. Screaming, "I love you, I love you" over and over again makes it hard to drop her off in there. But of course, once we leave, she has fun playing with the kiddos and learning about Jesus :)
Last thing and I will stop typing but Ryleigh also cracks us up when she puts her sentences together. It amazes me how much these lil people can do at such a small age. Some of my favorites sentences of Ry's are:
"knife hurt you, careful."
"bug bite you"
"I shut door"
"I want some go-fish (goldfish)"
Well it's about bed time - I will update again in a few days hopefully with a fresh pic. Love you all!

2 cuties

Just wanted to update the blog and say that both Jake and I just love our two lil gals. Although the past 2 weeks have been very tiring and challenging with 2 trips to the ER, we are so thankful to the Lord for blessing us with our family! I have attached some photos Heather took of my lil ladies at chick-fil-a on Saturday. Hope everyone is doing well :)
