While Jake and Rylz are out watering the yard, I thought I'd take a moment to blog about our eventful weekend!
First, we got to hang out with The Duty's Thursday night at Gattitown, or as Rylz calls it "dadatown" We had so much fun letting the gals run around and holding the new lil babies
We also celebrated my Mom's 30th bday (wink, wink - that's for you Momma)at Cracker Barrel!
Thirdly, Heather V and I went to a girly movie Saturday while the guys watched the gals and then the guys went to a bball game while we hung with the gals!
Lastly......my boss Tim and I FINALLY finished laying out the new Modern Babies and Children magazine. Our premier issue comes out June 20th and I will post sneak peeks later!
That's all I got, how'd ya like that?

Here We Go....
...I thought Rylz would always be the perfect lil sleeper. Going to bed without a fuss, staying in her toddler bed until the next morning but oh no - I was WAY wrong. She reminds me of myself when I was young..scared of the dark! Last night, we put her to bed like normal but this time she kept saying "I don't want dark" "I don't want it" After about 15 minutes of crying, she fell asleep. Then around 3am she woke up, got out of her bed, opened her door and came to our room. When Jake tried to put her back to bed, she would just throw a fit and cry "hold you" (like she was scared of something). Then we let her sleep in the bed with Jake and I took Keira to sleep in the living room..that didn't work either. Then Jake took Keira in our room to sleep and I put Rylz on the couch with me..that didn't work either. We have prayed with her (even more than we do each night) and we have explained to her that Jesus watches over her and she understands that. Just still scared. If anyone has ANY suggestions, I would GREATLY appreciate it. A few "momisms" below for ya:
*only a mom would be able to carry a toddler on the left, an infant & infant carrier on her right, two bottles and a pitcher in one hand, all while wearing heels and walking down the stairs
*only a mom (dad) would be so sleep deprived that she (he) would tie a scarf from the toddler's bedroom door knob to the bathroom door knob to keep the toddler from opening the door at night (only to realize that scares her even more that she can't open the door in the dark)

A Tootsie Roll at 10:00 a.m.
I just spoke to Kendra about how Taylor was already potty trained like 2 days ago. I was excited for Taylor but frustrated because we had been trying so hard with Ryleigh. Then, this a.m. when Ryleigh and Jake stormed in the room to show me that she was eating a tootsie roll..I wanted to cry! Not because she was eating candy so early in the day but because I knew that meant she had pottied in her big girl Dora potty! Jake said that while I was in the room getting ready, she came up to him and said "wanna go potty" and so he took her in there and she peepee'd like a big girl, thus following up with the reward, a TOOTSIE ROLL! I am so thrilled that she is getting the hang of it - she just used the potty again so hopefully this time it will stick. Maybe we are bad rents for bribing our child with tootsie rolls but if you know Ryleigh, you know that she is motivated by food, not toys!! haha
